My earliest memory of a garden was my grandma’s. I can remember a tall white fence with lots of taller plants, mostly purple and pinks. Back then I did not know what they were or even understand the love she poured into her garden. Now, I can visualize it and see the gladiolas, the roses, the delphiniums, the bleeding hearts, and the phlox. I remember time spent with her planting seeds and flowers, using the tiny shovel she bought me. I remember the little pink garden gloves too. Now, my garden is my go-to space. I love the perennials I have gotten from friends and relatives. I remember every plant given to me, who gave it to me, and often when I got it. It’s part of what makes my garden so special to me.

I describe my garden as playful and whimsical. With rusty garden structures, whimsical birdhouses, a koi pond with flowing waterfalls, and beautiful plants sprouting among the koi. The flowers are abundant. I think I have tried almost every plant out there, and not always with success. But this is how we learn. It is
said, “One must fail at gardening in order to succeed”.

In 2015 I left the corporate world, put on my overalls and garden boots, and went to work helping others create beautiful outdoor spaces. I love sharing my passion and expertise with others. My team does too.

Oh, and by the way…..my favorite garden gloves are still my pink ones!
